BURMA" Dirty pretty things
NY fashion week is currently running.
And all eyes are on Marc Jacobs (again?), who seem to have taken a new approach to style: cut down the layers and pump up the elegance.
With the promise of a star-studded crowd (Helena Christensen, Rod Stewart and of course Rachel Feinstein), all eyes were also on the new crop of models parading down the Marc runway, such as Amanda Lopes, Tanya C., Cecilia Mendez and Kinga Rajzak.
What was also real cool about the show was the shocking dye jobs of the hair.
Whole head electric blue with an elegant grey suit? I mean seriously, its just so cool. The good mix of elegant dressing with a punky edge(minus the ultra layerings of his past styles).
Another key feature of the show were the billowing hats, and hats reminiscent of those during the 1950s. The 1950s trend was long gone, but he brought it back by mixing it with elegant military dressing and androgynous pantsuits. Plus, some of the hats were in shocking flat colours, which completes each outfit in more ways than one.

Flapper dressing with a fairy tale edge.

With a mixture of studded leather gloves, cool black laced-up boots and elegant and feminine dressings, the models, when parading down the runway, looked like edgy cops undercover for a socialite/debutante event.
Besides that, there were also simple shift dresses with nice pattern works.
